Namibia is rich in mineral resources, but the United Nations Development Program’s 2005 Human Development Report indicated that approximately 35% of the population lives on $1 per day and 56% lives on $2 per day

67% of Namibia’s population lives in malaria-prone areas.

HIV/AIDS causes more than 50% of all deaths of people between the ages of 15 and 49; however, malaria surpasses HIV/AIDS as the leading cause of death among all ages in five of Namibia’s northern regions.

The Diocese of Namibia is one of the 25 dioceses that make up the Church of the Province of Southern Africa.

The church has been active in addressing the major health threats of HIV/AIDS and malaria, with an emphasis on home-based care for people living with HIV/AIDS and on community outreach.

NetsforLife® is working in 10 districts in Namibia: Oshana, Oshikoto, Omusati, Ohangwema, Kavango, Caprivi, Ondengwa, Tsumeb, Odibo and Eenhana.
